I've been spending the last couple of days researching DSLRs. I have been looking at them for a while now, but this time, I'm seriously considering purchasing one. Like, forrealz yo. I have a lot of spare time when I am at work and naturally, I spend all that extra time surfing the net, reading reviews on Canon and Nikon. Actually, for a while, I was pretty set on the new Canon Rebel T1i. But then, the Nikon D60 came into the picture. A friend suggested it as a great entry level camera for amateur photographers.
OH THE DILEMMA.
I spent a good chunk of my afternoon at work today, going back and forth between the two. The Canon T1i is pretty pricey considering this is going to be my first DSLR, but the features (and megapixels)!! But price is a big thing, so I started looking at its predecessor, the Canon Rebel XSi. And then I researched the D60 for awhile. And you know what? I still have no idea which one I want to get.
OY. I am going to get one though. I want to have it for my semester abroad in Beijing. I want to take beautiful pictures of my experience in China.
I'm going to decide soon though. I was really tempted to buy one today, but I restrained myself. I can be a bit of a compulsive buyer at times. I need to do some hands on research at B&H. Then I'll decide.

Sweet disposition
I've really been terrible with updating lately (I write this as if I have a large readership. HAH!). I've been pretty busy with work, and just life in general. So much that I've neglected this blog. I have never been too good with journal keeping (though I was very consistent in JHS. Everything in life seems SUPER IMPORTANT when you are in JHS), so obviously that would rub off onto my blog keeping.
Actually, I should probably be getting ready for work, but ehhhh.
I watched (500) Days of Summer last Thursday with the boyfriend. I loved it. I thought it was a really good movie. I love Zooey Deschanel. The boyfriend enjoyed it too. He thought the movie was really funny. And it was funny. It had lots of good moments, and great quotes. This is definitely one of my favorites. It's a bittersweet movie though, so don't expect some sappy love story. Because as this movie poster suggests, "this is not a love story. It's a story about love."
The soundtrack to this movie is great too. It flows together wonderfully, and makes you want to sing [and dance] along to the songs. At least, that is the effect it has on me. Ahhhhhhhh, I just love everything about this movie :]

A conglomeration of events and tidbits - Part Uno
Conglomeration. I love that word. I love the way it rolls my tongue. I don't know why, and I don't care. I just love it.
Anyhoo, I have a bunch of pictures to post, and stories to post. Don't know if they'll be any interesting, but eh, I'm going to post it all anyway! I have so many pictures and little things in between, that I think I'm going to split this post into TWO (or THREE??!?!?!?!). Moahahaha, won't that be interesting? :D
Right. Let me get on with it.
First off, I went to Alice's Tea Cup (Chapter II) with Jeana in May, when she was visiting New York. I know, this portion of my post is super old, but I really wanted to mention it because it was such a cute place to go with a girlfriend or to take kids.
The wait was a little long, but there were plenty of stores around the area, so the wait wasn't that bad. Alice's Tea Cup was full of little kids, families, and women. As the boyfriend would say, "it's a chick place." Be that as it may, I still think it'd be a nice place for a date. Any guy who would swallow his pride and bring his girlfriend here is a keeper ;)
Jeana ordered the french toast and I decided to try their eggs benedict. It was actually my first time eating eggs benedict, so I have no idea if it's supposed to taste like that, or if there's better out there, but I thought it was all right. The buttermilk scone underneath it was scrumptious. But I don't think I'd order it again. The chicken hash on the side was really good though. I can't say much about Jeana's french toast because I only tried a little and I barely remember what it tasted like. It does look pretty though, don't it? :)
Oh, and the tea. Hahaha. I totally forgot to mention the tea. We shared a large pot of their birthday tea. I can't remember what flavor it was, but it was definitely something fruity. The tea was very fragrant, and I really liked it. Our waiter forgot to charge us for it (I think?), so our meal was cheaper than it probably should have been. We debated whether or not we should tell him, but because we're both poor college students (or in Jeana's case, poor college graduate), we didn't tell him.
Does that make us bad people? We left a decent tip for him though. Does that kind of make up for the fact that we didn't get charged for the tea? :p
I hope so! ;D
Onto the next set of pictures... (I'm too lazy to post up individual ones ... too lazy to edit them one by one, hahaha. And they're not very well edited, sorrrrrrrrry! I am a bum.)
When the boyfriend got back from school, we spent one of our days together at Coney Island. Actually, we spent about half an hour looking for parking and then an hour actually at Coney Island. The earlier part of the day was spent at the park; I read my book while he played bball. Hahaha. Anyhoo. We got corn dogs (<3!) and fries from Nathan's. Um, it was really good. Like, really. I mean it. I think Nathan's has the best crinkle cut fries. Ever. It was crisp and potato-y and yum. And corn dogs, man, I just love corn dogs. I needn't to say much about them. They are the bomb diggity.
Other than the food and the eating, me and Dan walked around for a bit, taking in the freak shows, kiddy rides and eccentric people that Coney Island is all about. There was one booth that claimed to have a gi-normous rat (weighing 100 lbs, I think?) on display. It was only like, 50 cents to go and take a gander, but I was too chicken to go look. I bet it was just a guy dressed up like a rat in the cage ... that would have been sad. I don't know?! I didn't want to go because I don't like rats ... especially not 100 lb ones.
WELL, I think this is all the writing I can muster up for now. I suppose I could write more, but my mom keeps badgering me to look up information about getting a teacher's license or something like that. Eh, whatever. I guess I will humor her for now, and look up something on google. Or maybe, BING?
What's that all about anyway? Is it really better than google?

So much to say, but no time to say it
I have updates and pictures to post, but I can never find the time to do it!
I know, I know. EXCUSES. I should just shut up and write up an entry.
BUT, I promise I will try to do it as soon as I can. I've been pretty busy this week and can never seem to find the energy to do anything when I get home. I am excited for this holiday weekend though! I'll be in Chicago with my parents, visiting my dad's old friend from China and his family, and we'll be celebrating Independence Day Chicago style! :D
I can't wait!
