Procrastination at its best

Taking a very brief break from studying to post some pictures of food :)

Filipino dish that Camille made. I forget what it's called, but it was yummy.
Perfect over rice.
I baked more chocolate chip cookies ^o^

My first time making my mom's Chinese version of Borscht. This is my favorite wintertime soup ever. Reminds me of home.

Checking my list

This is the list I posted up a couple of weeks back in anticipation of my return home. And now let's see how many things I've actually been able to do...

Things I want to do over winter break
1. Visit Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas tree.
2. Go to Magnolia Bakery.
3. PINKBERRY! CHECK]
4. Drink lots and lots of bubble tea. [CHECK]
5. Eat xiao long bao (小笼包) and shen jian bao (生煎包).
6. Watch Enchanted and I Am Legend. [Saw I Am Legend, going to watch Enchanted tonight!]
7. Eat lots of Korean food! [CHECK]
8. And Chinese food. [CHECK]
9. And Japanese food. [CHECK]
10. Just Asian food in general. [Always room for more food ^_^]
11. Go to Max Brenner: Chocolate by the Bald Man in Union Square.
12. Go ice skating in Central Park. Or just ice skating in general.
13. Go the Sweet Avenue Bake Shop in Rutherford, NJ
14. Spend New Year's with amazing people.
15. Make a snow man and snow angels! [There isn't ANY snow!]
16. Spend lots of time catching up with old friends. [I've kind of been doing that? Not as much as I'd have liked]
17. Buy new boots.
18. Go to Boston for fun.
19. Get root beer floats @ the FAO Schwartz ice cream parlor!
20. Bake, bake, bake. [I baked last night? Half check]
21. Make chocolate lollipops :)

Not too bad. I've mostly been eating. A lot of eating. What can I say? I love to eat. I baked more oatmeal chocolate chip cookies last night. They came out pretty tasty even though I accidentally bought and used salted butter instead of unsalted butter. Luckily, I fixed that problem by adding a bit more sugar. Mmmm, I made 4 dozen cookies. Unfortunately, I don't have Cindy, Jocelyn, Oronde, Brian and RCCCFers to eat them all this time around. I doubt my parents will eat them all. What am I going to do with 4 dozen cookies! Moahaha, EAT THEM ALL MYSELF. Mmmm, yeah...right. I hardly ever eat much of what I make.

Anyhoo, I need to go get ready for church.
Thank You for Your blessings even though I don't deserve any. Thank You for loving me despite what I've done and who I am.

Be back later

I'm finally home, yay! I finished my last final on Tuesday, and spent Wednesday and Thursday working at the bookstore. We (Oronde, Dan and I) left Rochester around 4pm yesterday, and got back around 10ish. I'm pretty happy to be home because I've missed it and because I don't have any school work to worry about anymore! It's all over!

I have a lot of pictures to post up. I've been doing a lot of baking and cooking lately. It makes me happy. This past Wednesday, we had a big Christmas feast at Dan's apartment and I made oreo cheesecake and sweet potato casserole with marshmallows. There was turkey, green bean casserole, corn bread, bruschetta, pasta, mashed potatoes, corn, salad and more! It was all so good and I was so full afterwards. Mm'mmm delicious. And I made snickerdoodle cookies on Thursday night/Friday morning and they came out really good too.

I don't have much time to post right now, but I will be back later to post more.

Oh yeah, exciting news! Dan got me Nigella Express for Christmas! He remembered that I had really wanted to get it when we went to B&N that night, so he bought it for me online. So nice of him ^^ I've been flipping through it and I can't wait to make the tiramisu and the pomegranate ice cream and just about everything! YAY :)
