Yummy chocolate wafers

Doesn't that look good? Well, let me tell you. They are delicious. I had extra time on Friday afternoon (read: I didn't go to my afternoon class.. Oops) so I decided to make these babies. I got the recipe from one of my favorite food blogs: smitten kitchen. They're so incredibly easy to make despite the fact that I don't own a food processor or a stand mixer. But who needs that?! (Although I would LOVE to have a stand mixer...) I used my hands and they worked just as well. But yaaarr, these wafers are so good. I need to remember to buy some ice cream from the Corner Store before I go back to GLC today so I can make ice cream sandwiches and live the fat life. Ahhh. I can just feel my stomach expanding as I'm writing this.

And I can hear the faint nagging of my mother's voice about how I should be skinnier as well. (Oh, Asian parents...)

But whatevs! She's all the way there, and I'm here. I can ignore her voice for now.... Until she calls me later tonight and asks if I've been using my Swiss ball. Hahaaha. Blah.

This is a scary realization

There have been several times this semester (and maybe also past semester) when I realized how fast everything is moving, and how rapidly I am "growing up." I only have one more full year of college left. After that, it's off to the real world for me.

And what is the "real" world anyway? What does that mean for a history major like me? Grad school? Jobless? Broke? In huge debt? Temp jobs? I don't really know. It's a bit terrifying to think about. BUT the important thing is that I have been thinking about, and I've been thinking about it a lot (my momma would be proud *tear). What DO I want to do with my life and what CAN I do with my history major? As of late, I've been looking a lot into the museum and historical societies field. I think I would enjoy working in a museum. I think. I've also been looking at research internships and communications/marketing internships. Pretty much anything I can get my hands on that somewhat apply to my major and/or job experiences. After meeting with an advisor at the career center, I discovered that my previous jobs at Mega and Gracie Mansion (and my current position as secretary for Sigma) qualify me for the "Communications Experience" title on my resume. Okay, that's cool. I can totally work with that. I love euphemisms. They make my resume look so much better.

Point is, I'm not just lazing around worrying about more. I'm actually doing something. I'm being proactive. A phrase I picked up at the resume workshop I went to on Tuesday. Go me.

IES Beijing Fall 2009!

For those who don't know, I am planning on studying abroad in Beijing, China in the Fall. I got accepted into my language intensive program the other day over email, and just received my welcome package in the mail today! The first picture is my sad attempt to take a picture of my envelope while in the library, and the second is of my folder.

I'm not definite on whether or not I'll actually be able to go abroad, but I'm hoping that I will be...? I really want to go!!! So I'm crossing my fingers that everything works out.

Late night blogging.

I've been going at this paper for a while. I spent my afternoon and a chunk of my evening reading over my books... books that I should have already read. I always find myself in this situation. I'm always scrambling to write my papers. It's a terrible habit and I really need to change it. But it's difficult.

Leaving everything to the last minute is like some code of college students or something. I always seem to find myself in a hurry to get everything done, no matter how hard I try to do everything on it. Kind of sad.

I'm exhausted right now. I still have 3 pages (perhaps more??) to go before I can call it a night. Or rather, call it a morning. I can barely lift my arms right now. I AM FUH-REAKING TIRED. I just want to pass out on the floor. It looks so soft and inviting...

There was a point to my post (besides procrastination). Or... maybe there wasn't? I don't really remember anymore. My brain is functioning properly right now. Neither are my eyes. Oh gosh. That's never good. I should PROBABLY stop blogging and save all my brain and eye power for my sad, pathetic paper.

This is the story of my sad, pathetic life.
Oy.

Remembering old journals.

Found this picture on Flickr from eklektick

There are a ton of pictures on Flickr of people's WTJs (Wreck This Journal). Mine is in a box somewhere in my room. When I first got it two Christmases ago, I thought it was so clever, and spent time drawing in it and wrecking it. But after awhile, I forgot about it. However, after seeing all these pictures of other people's colorful WTJs, it makes me want to resume drawing and writing in mine.

Ok, enough procrastination. Back to reading and working on my paper. Blah.
