All aboard the FAIL train!

This video makes me laugh every time I watch it. It makes me wonder if Camille is ever faced with that when she takes the train in Japan. She'd totally be appalled if she was ever shoved and crammed in like that, haha. Camille, are you reading this? How is Korea? I'm so jealous! I miss you :)

Paper due tomorrow. UGH. Can't wait until all this ends!

Some old pictures

Food pictures from my birthday lunch with a couple of RCCCFers in K-Town. We went to eat at BCD (I don't think it's affliated with Flushing BCD) for lunch and I ordered their soondubu chigae. I don't remember which I got, but judging from the picture, I think it was beef?

Friends surprised me with a birthday cake from Magnolia Bakery after we ate. It was actually pretty funny, because I was totally oblivious to the fact that they got me a cake, despite the fact that one of them accidentally slipped and mentioned the cake. I totally didn't pick it up. The cake was yummy, decadent and chock-full of chocolately goodness. Unfortunately, I had to leave for Rochester the next day, so I only had one slice of the cake, but I'm sure my family enjoyed it on my behalf. After lunch, we went to Pinkberry (of course. No trip to K-Town is complete without a stop at Pinkberry/Red Mango), where they proceeded to spell my name wrong. But since they gave me a ton of strawberries, I forgave them.

Now, back to my paper...

Not that I've progressed very far in the past hour and half. Twitter and DISGRASIAN and D-Listed have been distracting me. UGH. Must be more productive.

Tomorrow's the last day of classes! YAY. But at the same time, not yay. It just means paper writing to the maxxx.

Every love song suddenly is filled with meaning.

I just realized that I do this a lot: whenever I go to the library, I turn my laptop on, plug in my earphones, put them on and begin doing work, without ever starting up iTunes. I usually sit around for a good half an hour or so before I realize that I don't have any music blasting from my earphones. I've heard of people who do that so they can eavesdrop on others' conversations, but... I'm in a library; no one talks when they study in the Periodical Room. It's dead silent in here, save for the occasional scraping of chairs.

Anyway, I deactivated my Facebook account today. I've never done anything like this before, but because of the steady stream of final papers/assignments/exams I have for the next week and half (until 6pm on May 8), I figured it would be beneficial to cut out a distraction (read: addiction). Maybe it'll prove to be extremely helpful in increasing my productivity. Who knows? I think I was pretty productive in high school, before Facebook came along? ...I think... I can barely remember what life was like before Facebook. Pretty scary.

I'll still be flittering around on my blog and on twitter so I won't be completely cut off from the world. And of course, I'll still be a slave to my gmail.

Hopefully, this Facebook deactivation business will free up some of my time and I'll finally have time to write a letter back to Joanna. I've been meaning to do that for the longest time. Jo, if you are reading this, I'm so sorry for the delay and I promise I'll try to send out a letter to you as soon as I can!!

It's going to be a long, long, long week.

Seventh inning stretch

The semester is winding down to its final weeks. My junior year has but a mere 2 weeks left. It's really scary to think about it; one more year and then it's onto the "real" world. High school wasn't that bad because I had college to look forward to, but now that my college years are beginning to dissipate in front of my eyes, I don't really have anything to look forward to.

Well, I guess I can look forward to "being an adult" though I'm not exactly sure that's something that many people look forward to. While I do want to get married and have kids and have a family of my own, it's not something that is in my near future. All those things are a bit intimidating, to be honest. I just wish I knew where to go from here. But then it would take the fun out of life.

I'm thinking and pondering too much. The only thing I need to look forward to right now is finishing all my final papers and final exams in one piece. That's all I really want right now. To be done with this semester. It wasn't a very good one, academically speaking. Yuck. Let's not talk about it any further.

PS. Going back to my previous post about how fickle Mother Nature is being, here is your local [Rochester] weather update: Friday was beautiful, high 70s, yesterday was also beautiful, low to mid 80s, today started out bleak and dreary, mid 50s, and right now it's sunny, low to mid 60s. And tomorrow? Supposedly, it's going to be beautiful and mid 80s.

See? Mother Nature can't decide on a consistent weather front if her life depended on it.

Don't mind me. I'm just a little peeved about these weather patterns.

yogen früz

Stumbled upon this place last weekend while I was at Eastview Mall with Michelle and Susan. It's like Pinkberry and Red Mango except they have an option of blending the fruit into the frozen yogurt. I got strawberry, raspberry and blueberries. It was yummy. A nice treat that completed the lovely weekend.

Weird/funny tidbit: I googled Yogen Fruz and decided to play with the store finder on their main website. I typed in my zipcode for Rochester and figured that Eastview would come up first, seeing how it is the closest one (that I know of) in the area. Instead, the store finder directed me to Niagara Falls and Canada for the closest locations. It's probably because the Eastview one is part of the mall, and not an actual store.

Okay, okay, that wasn't a very funny tidbit, but it still amused me that the website sent me to Canada to get my frozen yogurt fix.
