The snow is falling, oh a-falling.

It is snowing buckets outside. Like ridiculously. I went outside earlier, and it was pelting me from every-which-way. The visibility is terrible. I am looking out my window right now, and I can barely see a thing. I can faintly make out the outlines of the trees. I think it's going to snow something like 9 inches today. Or maybe more at the rate this is going. Lovely. It is going to be a pain walking to my exam tomorrow morning. I am so going to fall on my butt. I need snow boots, because the boots I wear are terrible for the snow (and probably not meant for such rough weather) and my socks always get wet and I always slip and almost fall in them.

This geology stuff just makes me want to procrastinate right now. I don't care about estuaries and fjords and all that jazz. I just want to bake cookies and watch TV and run around singing and dancing. Anything is better than geology right now.

Actually, looking at the snow makes me want to start a fire in the fireplace I don't have and drink hot chocolate and be all winter-y.

In other news, my hamster Twinkie died this past Wednesday. Kind of sad. She was a year and two months old. She was a cute little ball of fluff, minus the somewhat scary red eyes she inherited from her momma, Congee (yeah, I like to name my hamsters after food, so what?). I'm going to miss her. I've had her since she was a little itty bitty baby. RIP Twinkie <3

Why does life hate me so?

I am such an idiot.

Earlier today, after wandering around for a considerable amount of time looking for a place to study, I discovered that the final paper I have to write for my Traditional Japanese history class (which I would like to mention is due TOMORROW) is actually supposed to be 8 pages long; not the 4 pages I had originally thought it was supposed to be. Wow, that was a really long sentence. So yeah. This take home final exam has two parts. I thought that it was two questions, and we had to choose one to write about. Man, I was so misled. I should have read the assignment carefully. Epic fail on my part. Sheesh. And on top of this paper, I also have to study for my Geology final (4 more chapters to study, oh JOY) tomorrow morning. So I pretty much felt everything crashing down on me when Camille told me the dreadful news about the final paper. Good thing Camille told me when she did, or else it would have been a total disaster if I had, oh I don't know, found out TOMORROW. That would have been even worse...

Life hates me. It really does. UUUUURRRGGGGHHHH.

Finals week, here I come...

Is it already finals week? Fall semester is coming to an end? What? When did this happen? Only 3 semesters left as a college student. That sentence is quite daunting. I am so not ready for finals week. Monday is going to eat me alive. I just feel so overwhelmed right now. But at the same time, I feel like I don't have the right to complain about my workload because there are a lot of other people who have so much more to do than me. I just want to get it over with.

I feel really annoyed, and frustrated. Fed up. Tired. Hopeless. Cynical. Lethargic. Apathetic. I just don't give a rat's ... Yeah. Which totally sucks because it is taking away from the merry holiday season. I usually love December because I love Christmas time and the hustle and bustle of the holidays, but ever since college started, I've been feeling it less and less every year. Blargh.

In other news, I am slowly starting to fall in love with Tina Fey. She is amazing.

Finals, finals. When will it finally be over?

I am dreading tomorrow. Why? Because I have to take two finals, one after the other. I'm currently feeling very under the weather. I think I caught a cold or something like that. I'm exhausted. My sleeping pattern has been out of whack for the longest time. There is one thing to be thankful for though, I don't have any final papers to write! They're all over and done with. I just need to survive tomorrow and Tuesday, and I'll be home free! Speaking of which, I should study for my history final right now, since I don't know ANYTHING and I didn't even finish reading the book that we're supposed to have read for the final. Oytothevey. I should care more, but I think I've gone beyond that point. I just want to get it all over with. That's all I really want. This semester wasn't a very good one for me. It bothers me, but at the same time, I'm just too tired to care. I'll try harder next semester. I promise. I'll try extra hard. Next semester is going to be insane. I'm involved in so many activities and classes, I don't know if I even have time to sleep. It's going to be crazy, but I'll manage somehow. I hope.

I went to B&N last night with Cindy, Dan & Oronde in the middle of the snow storm. Yeah, we're crazy like that. First, we went to Cold Stone's for ice cream and then we went to B&N to hang around. It's become an annual trip. We went last year too, for ice cream and then books and also during a snow storm. What can I say? We like to live life on the edge. There's quite a bit of snow outside, but not nearly as much as we had all expected. The weatherman lied. Supposedly, we were going to get hit with over a foot of snow last night and this morning. Well, that didn't happen. Honestly, I was fairly disappointed; I was hoping the large amount of snow would somehow cancel my finals and the professors would just give us all A's. Moahahaahaaa, I WISH. I amuse myself with my ridiculous imagination.

Anyhoo, I bought my first cookbook (The Bon Appetit Cookbook) last night when we went to B&N! It's HUGE and I love it! I was going to get Nigella Express, but opted to buy the Bon Appetit one because the two books were the same price, but Bon Appetit had a lot more recipes. I'll get Nigella's book some other day. I ain't made out of money yo. But, yeah. I'm really excited. There are already a couple of recipes I want to try once I get home. HAHA, I am so pumped. I'm really looking forward to this. I'm such a loser. Sometimes I think I'd do a pretty good job as a housewife. Both Justin and Eric have commented that my future husband is going to be very lucky because I'm so domesticated. Hahaha, oy. It may be nice, but it won't bring home the bacon because I doubt my domesticity is going to land me a spot on The Food Network as the next Rachel Ray or Nigella Lawson, harhar.

I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL MY FINALS ARE OVER. My head is about to explode. And I really feel like crap right now. I wish I was as productive as the Aja Tiger on my iGoogle homepage.

I haven't slept since I woke up on Wednesday morning. I'm starting to feel really tired right now. The exhaustion is beginning to catch up to me. I haven't really stopped at this today to rest. After my paper, I passed out at my desk for a little bit, and then showered, got breakfast and went to class. After class, I grabbed lunch and went home and ended up watching Heroes. I'm finally caught up and now I can watch the latest episode! I'm a bit late, but whatever! Anyhoo, after that I went to ITS to print out my Chinese homework, only to discover that the homework wasn't in my gmail so I had to walk back (in the snow. It started snowing like crazy for the entire afternoon) to my room to re-email it to myself. Then I went to RR to print it out, and ended up having to wait for the printer because it was stalled. Afterwards, I went to Chinese class and after Chinese, I had work until 5 at the bookstore. It's been a pretty busy day. I got dinner with some awesome people at Danforth (mmmm, tonight was a special night. They had prime rib and snow crab legs. Omgsh, our table consumed so much crab) and now I'm at Carlson with Justin and Eric the freshman. It's going to be another long, long night to paper writing and procrastinating. Oytothevey. I can't wait until all this is over. I am going to sleep SO much. SO SO MUCH.

So I got really excited earlier because I found this awesome cupcake bakery that's located near my cousin's house. I'm going to try to visit over winter break. Ahh, reading food blogs and looking at pictures of food make me feel happy. Sometimes I think I should just quit college and open up my own pastry shop. HAHA, yeah right. I'm not even that great at baking. I need more practice and more time to experiment with different recipes. Gah, I really really want to bake now.

Random picture of the cake that I baked for Steve and Karen's goodbye party at church. My first attempt at cake decoration. HAHA, I'm such a noob.

So, on a completely different note, I've decided to compile a list of all the things I'm hoping to do over winter break. Just because I can't concentrate right now, and because I don't want to work on my Chinese composition just yet...

Things I want to do over winter break
1. Visit Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas tree.
2. Go to Magnolia Bakery.
3. PINKBERRY! <3
4. Drink lots and lots of bubble tea.
5. Eat xiao long bao (小笼包) and shen jian bao (生煎包).
6. Watch Enchanted and I Am Legend
7. Eat lots of Korean food!
8. And Chinese food.
9. And Japanese food.
10. Just Asian food in general.
11. Go to Max Brenner: Chocolate by the Bald Man in Union Square.
12. Go ice skating in Central Park. Or just ice skating in general.
13. Go the Sweet Avenue Bake Shop in Rutherford, NJ
14. Spend New Year's with amazing people.
15. Make a snow man and snow angels!
16. Spend lots of time catching up with old friends.
17. Buy new boots.
18. Go to Boston for fun.
19. Get root beer floats @ the FAO Schwartz ice cream parlor!
20. Bake, bake, bake.
21. Make chocolate lollipops :)

I can't wait to leave this place.

One down, one more to go

It is currently 6:33 in the freaking morning. I just finished my final research paper for CAS. I am officially done. I'm so happy that I've finally gotten this over with, but I'm too tired to feel anything. I have another paper waiting to be done after this. It's longer this time and it's going to take so much effort to do it. Sometimes I honestly wonder why I chose to be a history major. All these papers, all this reading, I think I complain more than I should. Do I complain about it too much? It's all so overwhelming. I love history, but I'm not as interested as I used to be in high school. I think it's the fact that I don't have a good relationship with any of my professors. Mansdorf and I had such a great relationship, and I really enjoyed going to his class every day even though I knew that he would assign us mountain loads (what seemed like mountain loads of work at the time. I know better now. So much better) of homework.

I'm so drained right now. But I don't have the luxury of putting my head down right now to rest. I need to finish my Chinese homework and then shower, wake up Rena, grab breakfast, print out my paper, give Dan a wake-up call and then go to CAS class. I don't think I'm going to get any sleep until Saturday. I have work until 5, and then after that I'm going straight to the library to work on my history paper. I'm writing about the problem of immigration during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It shouldn't be that bad. But it is. I have to get sources and cite my information. I hate sources and I hate bibliographies. I'm really bad at writing papers. My writing's gotten so bad. I never have a chance to write because I want to. Rather, I'm forced to write because I need to pass school. I don't know what it is. I just hate researching and pulling quotes and whatever. It takes so much time and energy. And I suck at organizing my time. I know this paper is going to take forever.

Do I even make sense anymore? I should be tired, but I don't feel anything. At least, I don't think I feel anything. I don't know what's going on. I need to shower. I need to get up and walk around. I've lost all feeling in my body.
